We at CNS believe that it is our responsibility to provide your child with a "Loving Caring Learning Home Atmosphere." You can have peace of mind knowing that your child is happy, safe, well cared for, and learning.  All of our programs provide many socialization opportunities. Some of the skills stressed are listening, following directions, sharing, taking turns, as well as loving and respecting other children and adults.

We offer daycare, preschool, extended preschool (includes lunch), kindergarten, and school-age programs for children
to 10 years old; 2, 3, 4, or 5 days a week, part-time, full-time, and before and/or after school. CNS is open year round from 7:00am to 6:00pm and has a summer camp program.

Both the preschoolers and kindergarten children participate in a variety of field trips throughout the year, In the fall we go apple and pumpkin picking and visit the firehouse. The library and zoo are our spring trips. We have holiday parties, birthday celebrations, and theme days through the year. We occasionally have guest visitors and special activities at our center to expand our children's experiences.

Preschool and Day Care:
The preschool and day care programs offer a variety of exciting, enriching, and developmentally appropriate activities. Your child has the opportunity to learn about the world in a way that gives him or her the chance to make discoveries independently, with joy and excitement.

Daily, during group time, we include activities that help to develop your child's language abilities. Some of these include: quality literature, music and movement, finger plays, and discussions where children can feel comfortable expressing their ideas and opinions.

Free play is another important component of our day. It gives your child hands-on choices and the chance to learn through play. It is our belief that this is the best way for children to learn. During free play children can choose a variety of puzzles, manipulatives, coloring, painting, or computers (included in every classroom) to help develop their small muscles. To develop gross muscle control, children may ride bikes, climb, run, or swing in our large outdoor play area. Dramatic free play, blocks, games, and sand or water play, help to develop your child's critical thinking skills.

Science and social studies are part of our weekly curriculum. Some of our science units include: the senses, health and nutrition, plants, animals, chick hatching, and dinosaurs. Community helpers, holidays, transportation, and international countries & customs are some of our social studies units, arts & crafts and cooking are always incorporated into these units.

We also include reading, writing, and math readiness skills. Many opportunities to develop visual and auditory discrimination are provided. In our four year old class, the children learn to write their name and depending on their individual ability, they learn to write letters and numbers.

Kindergarten:
Our Kindergarten program is accredited by the state of NJ and fully prepares your child for entry into the primary grades. Independent working and learning attitudes are fostered in the Kindergarten program while providing an exciting and challenging curriculum. We include daily activities in math, language arts, science, social studies, art, and music. By the end of the year you can expect your child to be reading!

School-Age:
The School-Age program provides time for completing homework, for socializing, and experiencing enriching activities. Arts & crafts, cooking, outdoor play, games and computers are offered on a daily basis.

Summer Camp:
Our Summer Camp program is stimulating, fun, and inviting. Children participate in two field trips and weekly theme days such as crazy hat day, wacky Wednesday, pajama day, as well as an all American barbecue. Children spend lots of time outdoors enjoying the weather, having water play, using sidewalk chalk, playing in the sandbox, and enjoying balls, riding toys, and out climbing equipment. Indoors campers play games, use the computers, cook, make beautiful crafts, listen to stories, and sing. Come and join CNS's Summer Camp and make your child's summer special.
